Connect Foodics to Claude and ChatGPT

Last verified: 17 October 2026

Short answer

As of 17 October 2026 we found no ready-made Claude or ChatGPT connector from Foodics. Foodics has its own plain-language analytics, Foodics AI, but it covers Foodics data only. To use Foodics data in Claude or ChatGPT next to your other systems, the account owner emails support@foodics.com to ask for API access, and Foodics's help centre says the account needs the Advanced plan or an API licence.

What Foodics AI already does, and what it cannot see

Foodics AI is Foodics's own analytics product. Foodics's help centre describes it as a business intelligence tool built into the Foodics ecosystem, with a feature that turns questions typed in plain language into reports, plus live dashboards, forecasting and exports to CSV, Excel, PNG or PDF. You open it at bi.foodics.com, from the apps section of the console, or in the mobile app, and the owner's credentials are needed to install it.

Foodics acquired the company behind this technology, Norma AI, in full, and announced it on 22 June 2026. Wamda reports that Norma's Analytics Agent and BI application are now integrated into the Foodics platform and that Foodics is building agentic AI for restaurant operators. Foodics's own activation steps still say "Authorize Norma to access my account".

What Foodics AI can see, according to the Foodics AI FAQ, and what it cannot:

CoveredNot covered
Sales: branches, orders, order types and order source, products, categories, combos, taxes, tips, profit, costs, voids, discounts, promotions, guests, preparation time, customer count. Loyalty and loyalty points.
Inventory transactions: purchasing, transfers, quantity adjustments, supplier returns, production, consumption, waste, inventory counts, snapshots. Customer names and customer details.
Discounts, promotions, payment types and product groups. Any Foodics Pay data.

Why restaurants still want a wider view

Foodics AI answers questions about data held in Foodics. Many restaurant groups also sell through an online store, take orders from delivery apps and keep their books in a separate accounting system. A question such as "Which branch grew most last month once online store orders are included?" or "Do the totals in accounting match what our branches sold?" needs data from more than one system.

Foodics's App Marketplace lists many accounting and ERP apps, for example Wafeq, Xero and QuickBooks Online. Those are integrations between Foodics and other software. We did not see a Claude or ChatGPT listing among them.

Getting API access, step by step

Foodics's help centre article Integration Availability describes the official route for connecting an application that is not in its Marketplace. We found no Foodics page written specifically for AI assistants, so read this as the general route a Claude or ChatGPT connector would follow.

  1. Check your plan. Foodics says the account plan should be at the Advanced level, or that you should have purchased the API licence. If you are not sure which you have, ask your Foodics account manager.
  2. Find a technical team. Foodics says it is the client's responsibility to find a competent technical team to build the integration, and that Foodics supports that team throughout.
  3. Email Foodics from the owner's address. Send it to support@foodics.com from the owner's email address. Include your Foodics account number, the name of the application, and the scope of the integration (technical or non-technical).
  4. Foodics sets up the developer application. Foodics's developer guide says Foodics creates the developer application and a sandbox account after you describe the integration scope and give a redirect URL. The scope you describe decides which API permissions the application gets, so be specific.
  5. A Foodics user approves the application. The application sends a Foodics user to Foodics's sign-in page, the user approves it with OAuth 2.0, and the application receives an access token. Foodics's guide says the token does not expire, that a Foodics user can revoke it in the console, and that the API limit is 30 requests per minute per access token per IP address.

Steps 4 and 5 are the developer's work. The restaurant's part is the plan, the email and the approval.

Realistic options

Claude and ChatGPT cannot call the Foodics API on their own. They use a connector, which is a service the assistant calls to read data. Our general guide explains how connectors work in each assistant. For Foodics today, there are four practical options.

OptionGood forWatch out for
Foodics AI inside Foodics Questions about Foodics data only. No developer needed. It does not see your online store, accounting or other systems, and it excludes loyalty, customer names and Foodics Pay.
Export a report and upload it A one-off question that combines a Foodics export with a file from another system. It is manual, so it goes stale. An uploaded file goes to the AI service you use: remove personal data first and check your plan's data terms.
A read-only connector built on the Foodics API Regular questions in Claude or ChatGPT, with fresh Foodics data each time. Needs a developer and Foodics's approval first. The 30-requests-per-minute limit applies, and the connector must be reachable by the assistant.
A cross-system layer Questions that combine Foodics with your online store and accounting, under one set of roles, approvals and logs. Another company handles your data. Ask what it stores, who can see it and what it logs.

What you would ask about

Start with questions that Foodics data can answer. Foodics AI's data list is a useful guide to what Foodics holds. Examples that fit it: net sales by branch last week, which products had the most voids, which promotions produced the most net sales, and how much was wasted per branch. The API returns the data your application's permissions allow, and Foodics sets those per application, so confirm with Foodics what you can reach.

For questions across branches and channels, see one report for all branches and channels.

Keep it safe

  • Ask for read permissions only. The sample application in Foodics's developer guide mixes reading and writing, for example customers.get next to customers.write and orders.limited.create. Request only what your questions need. Keep menu, price and stock changes out until a person approves each one.
  • Treat the access token like a password. Keep it in a secrets store, not in a chat or a spreadsheet. Because it does not expire, revoke it in the Foodics console when you stop using it.
  • Mind customer data. Foodics AI excludes customer names, but the sample permissions include customer ones. If a connector reads customer data, check with your legal adviser first.
  • Review what the assistant asks to do. Claude asks you to approve tool use. Choose "Allow always" only for tools that cannot change anything.

Questions people ask

Does Foodics have a Claude or ChatGPT connector?

Not that we could find. On 17 October 2026 we read Foodics's help centre, its developer guides and its App Marketplace list, and searched the web. We found no Foodics MCP server and no Claude or ChatGPT listing. If Foodics adds one, use it first and check what it can change.

Is Foodics AI built on ChatGPT or Claude?

The Foodics pages we read do not say which AI models sit behind it. They say it works on your Foodics data and that the account owner installs it.

Do I need to buy something to get API access?

Foodics's help centre says the account plan should be at the Advanced level, or that you should have purchased the API licence. We do not know current prices, so ask your Foodics account manager.

Can I just upload an export to Claude or ChatGPT?

For a one-off question, yes. Foodics AI exports to CSV, Excel, PNG and PDF. The file goes to the AI service, so remove personal data first. For regular reports a connector saves the manual step.

Does the 30-requests-per-minute limit matter?

Not for a daily summary. It can matter if an assistant fetches many branches or many days one by one, so a connector should ask for what it needs in as few calls as possible.

Where Vootlabs fits

Foodics shows one part of a restaurant business. Vootlabs is onboarding design partners who use Foodics alongside other systems, such as an online store and an accounting system. The aim is one place to ask questions across all of them, with access by role, approval before any change and a full audit trail.

API access itself is requested from Foodics by your account owner, as described above. If you run Foodics with other systems and want one view across them, we would like to hear what you need.
