Connect Salla to Claude and ChatGPT

Last verified: 17 October 2026

Short answer

Salla offers an official connector for Claude and ChatGPT at https://mcp.salla.dev/mcp. Salla's page says you need an active merchant account with dashboard access, an active paid Salla subscription, and a Claude account or a ChatGPT Plus account, and then you sign in to Salla and approve permissions. It covers your Salla store only, so questions that also involve your other systems need more than one connection.

What Salla's connector can do

Salla's page says that once your store is connected, Claude or ChatGPT can read your store data, and you can track orders, update products and request reports with plain text commands. The examples on the page:

  • "Give me the latest 10 orders in the store."
  • "Which products are about to run out of stock?"
  • "Summarize the store's sales performance over the last 30 days."
  • "Update the quantity of [product name] to 100 units." This one changes your store data. It does not only read it.

Salla also says the assistant pulls product names, prices and details from your store, so you do not have to type them, for example when you ask for a description of your best-selling product.

Set up in Claude

On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner adds custom connectors under Organization settings > Connectors, and each person then connects with their own sign-in. The Free plan allows one custom connector. Both points are from Anthropic's article.

These are the steps on Salla's page:

  1. Open Claude's settings, go to Connectors and click the add button (+). Anthropic's current article calls this menu Customize > Connectors, so look there if you do not see Settings.
  2. Name the connector salla and enter the server address https://mcp.salla.dev/mcp.
  3. Click Connect, sign in to Salla and grant the permissions.
  4. In a new chat, click +, choose Connectors and switch Salla on.

Set up in ChatGPT

ChatGPT's menus move often. OpenAI's current page for custom servers describes a different path from Salla's: the Plugins page, then Add custom MCP server, then a risk warning you must accept. Follow whichever your ChatGPT shows.

Salla's page names a ChatGPT Plus account. OpenAI's pricing page lists "Developer mode (beta)" for Plus and Pro, but not for Free or Go. Its help article says full custom connections are for Business and Enterprise/Edu, and that Pro can connect custom servers for read and fetch only. It does not mention Plus, so check the live article. Our general guide has the plan details.

These are the steps on Salla's page:

  1. In Salla, open the unified settings centre, go to General and select Salla AI Connector.
  2. In ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Apps, then Advanced, and switch on Developer mode.
  3. Click Create app and enter https://mcp.salla.dev/mcp. Salla says authentication through OAuth is automatic.
  4. Sign in to Salla and approve the permissions.

Keep it safe: who can change stock

Salla's own example shows that the connector can change stock, not only read it. The page we read does not list the permissions you grant, and it does not say what confirmation or undo exists for changes. So decide the rules yourself:

  • Start with questions only. Orders, stock levels and sales summaries first. Change nothing until you have seen it work.
  • Switch off tools that change data. In Claude you can disable individual tools from the Search and tools menu. If a tool that updates products or stock appears there, turn it off until you need it.
  • Avoid "Allow always" on tools that write. Claude's research mode also runs connector tools without further approval, so disable write tools before you use it.
  • Connect with the right Salla account. Salla's Help Center has pages on store roles and permissions and on managing staff. The connector page does not say whether the connector follows the signed-in user's role, so ask Salla support before you rely on it.
  • Check the result. After any change, look at the product in your Salla dashboard.

What it covers and what it does not

Salla's page describes your Salla store. It does not mention other systems.

Do the store's sales match the invoices in accounting? No. It does not see your accounting system.
What did we sell on all channels this week, in one answer? No. One connection covers one store.

Salla plus other systems

Many Saudi businesses also run a point-of-sale system, an accounting system and spreadsheets next to Salla. Each has its own route, and we note what each offers publicly on its own page: Foodics, Odoo and Qoyod.

You can add several connectors in Claude, but each stays separate, with its own sign-in and its own permissions, and nothing gives you one set of roles, approvals and logs across them. The Free plan allows only one custom connector. Salla's Help Center also lists apps that sync a Salla store with accounting and ERP systems, including Qoyod and Odoo. Those move data between systems. They are not AI connectors.

To plan questions that span your systems, start with one report for all branches and channels.

Questions people ask

Do I need a paid Salla plan?

Yes. Salla's page lists an active paid Salla subscription as a requirement. It does not say which plan.

Can I use a free ChatGPT account?

Salla's page names a ChatGPT Plus account. OpenAI's pricing page lists Developer mode (beta) for Plus and Pro, not for Free or Go, and it changes plan rules often, so check the live article before you rely on that.

Can the assistant change my products?

Salla's own example updates a product quantity, so yes. Decide in advance who may allow that, and keep the first weeks read-only.

Does Salla offer anything else for AI?

Salla also publishes Growth Agents, a plugin for Claude Code. Its page says it reads your store data through the connector and can draft changes, that it shows every change before it runs, and that you make the final call.

Can I connect Salla and Foodics in one chat?

In Claude you can add both as separate connectors, if your plan allows more than one. The assistant then has two separate sources to combine, each with its own sign-in and permissions.

Where Vootlabs fits

Salla's connector is the right start for questions about your Salla store alone. Vootlabs is onboarding design partners who use Salla alongside other systems, such as a point-of-sale system and an accounting system. The aim is one place to ask across all of them, with access by role, approval before any change and a full audit trail.

If your store is only one part of how you sell, we would like to hear what you need.
